DGN Girls' Swim And Dive Places Fifth in Conference Championships

The Downers Grove North Girls Varsity Swim and Dive Team placed fifth in the West Suburban Conference Silver Division Championships on October 30 and 31 at Downers Grove North High School. Lyons Township won the conference title, with Oak-Park River Forest coming in a close second. The Glenbard West-South Coop team won the Frosh/Soph competition, with LT placing second.

The Downers Grove North divers continued their successful season, winning both the Varsity and Frosh/Soph contests. DGN junior Emily Aument won the Varsity Diving event and set a new conference meet record with a score of 465.35. Junior Elizabeth Aument placed second in the varsity contest, and freshman Madison Johnson won the Frosh/Soph diving event.

DGN Sophomore Ellie Benge placed 2nd in the Varsity 100 Yard Butterfly and 6th in the Varsity 200 Yard IM. Sophomore Emma Roche placed 6th in the varsity 100 Yard Butterfly. Freshman Jaye Sevcik placed 5th in the Varsity 100 Yard Backstroke event.

Many of the Trojan girls swam personal best times in this highly competitive conference meet.
