DGN Swim and Dive Compete in DGS Invite

The Downers Grove North Girls Swim and Dive Team competed in the Downers Grove South Invite on Saturday, October 3.

St. Charles East won the invite, which also included York, Metea Valley, Downers Grove South, and Wheaton Co-op. DGN placed 5th overall, but had many individual accomplishments. In the varsity 1 meter diving competition, Emily Aument came in 1st place, Elizabeth Aument came in 2nd place, and Madison Johnson came in 6th place.

Ellie Benge placed 4th in the 100 yd Butterfly. Jaye Sevcik placed 7th in the 100 yd Backstroke. Cassandra Candel, Maddy Carroll, Emma Roche, and Ellie Benge placed 4th for 400 yd Freestyle Relay.

Overall, the Trojan girls swam fast and dove clean.

Downers Grove North Girls Swim And Dive Team Faced Downers Grove South

The Downers Grove North Girls Swim and Dive Team competed in a dual meet against Downers Grove South on October 6. The DGS Mustangs won the varsity competition, while the DGN Trojans won the Frosh/Soph Competition.

DGN divers continued their great season with juniors Emily and Elizabeth Aument and freshman Madison Johnson winning the top three places in the varsity 1 meter diving. Freshmen Brooke Stocki and Kelly Brinkman earned first and second places respectively in the frosh/soph 1 meter diving.

DGN sophomore Lucy Lloyd won both the frosh/soph 50 and 100 yard freestyle races. Sophomore Ellie Benge won the varsity 200 yard IM and the varsity 100 yard butterfly. Freshman Seerat Kaur won the frosh/soph 100 yard butterfly, and freshman Madeleine Kirby won the frosh/soph 500 yard freestyle.
