Disorderly Conduct at Fairview Depot, Stolen Air Bags, Tipped Port-o-Potty: Police Blotter

THURSDAY, AUG. 23
Disorderly Conduct/Drinking in Public
David M. Deland, 56, of the 200 block of Oxford in Clarendon Hills, and Michael J. Coglainese, 50, of the 0-50 block of Cass Avenue in Westmont, were arrested around 6:53 p.m. at the Fairview Avenue train depot, 5099 Fairview Ave., police said.
Officers were dispatched to train depot for a report of two men drinking alcohol in public, one of whom was also seen urinating.

Deland admitted to drinking a beer that Coglainese bought him for his birthday, as well as urinating in the bushes, police said. Coglainese was holding a brown 7-Eleven cup that appeared to be half-full of beer, but dumped out the liquid before police could retrieve the cup, according to the report. However, the man later admitted he was drinking beer, police said.
Both men were charged with drinking on public property. Deland was also charged with disorderly conduct/urinating in public.

Tipped Port-o-Potty
A port-o-potty was tipped over at Concord Park, 1632 Concord Drive, police said. A newly planted tree was ripped from the ground on the south side of the park, and was place inside the toilet.
Malicious Mischief
Police responded around 7 a.m. to a vandalism report at a home in the 4700 block of Wallbank Avenue.
Two large construction signs were placed in the driveway, and ComEd/Nicor utility markers were spread over the entire lawn, anchoring several newspaper pages. Two construction sandbags were placed under the rear tires of a vehicle in the driveway, and 25 orange construction sandbags were piled at the front door. A water sprinkler was also placed in the center of the lawn, and was turned on, police said.
Stolen Mailbox
A metal mailbox was stolen overnight from the front of a home in the 3900 block of Douglas Road, police said.
Stolen Address Sign
An address sign was reported stolen from a home in the 300 block of Chicago Avenue. The sign was white with black numbers, and framed with dark wood and ivy painted near the edges. It had been custom-made in Mexico, police said.
Bicycle Found
Police officers found a bicycle in front of Fairview Mart, 402 75th St. around 2:12 a.m. The bike was identified as a Kent TJ 32044, and is red and yellow in color. The handlebars were loose, police said.
TUESDAY, AUG. 21
Stolen Airbags
Two airbags were stolen from a Volkswagon Jetta TDI between 3 p.m. on Aug. 20 and 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 21, police said.
Car Burglary on Finley Road
A car was burglarized overnight in the 3000 block of Finley Road, police said. Holes were punched in the center of the locks on both the driver's and passenger side door. Several items valued at $1,000 total were reported stolen, including a Husky tool box, various hand tools, a Milwaukee cordless impact drill and a portable band saw.
MONDAY, AUG. 20
Driving Under the Influence
Brian C. Bieda, of the 1900 bock of Prairie Square in Schaumburg, was arrested around 1:51 a.m. near Butterfield Road and Route 53, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, and was issued citations for speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was issued a Sept. 26 court date.
SATURDAY, AUG. 18
Car Burglary on Highland
A car was burglarized in the 2900 block of Highland Avenue between 8 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. while the driver was shopping, police said. A GPS, two cell phones and a black iPod were stolen from the front of the vehicle, where they had been charging.
MONDAY, AUG. 13
Driving Under the Influence
Bernard R. Rock, 35, of the 4600 bock of Lake Trail Drive in Lisle, was arrested around 2:06 a.m. near 63rd Street and Belmont Road, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, and was issued citations for following too closely and improper lane usage. He was issued a Sept. 19 court date.
