Food, Toiletry Donations Sought At Downers Grove Public Library
See how you can help the Downers Grove Library replenish its stock of items to help residents in need.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The Downers Grove Public Library (DGPL) will accept donations of food and toiletries Jan. 20 and Jan. 21 to help replenish its stock of items for residents in need.
Those making donations can drop off items in the library lobby during operating hours Saturday and Sunday. Below is a list of the most-needed items:
- Applesauce
- Baby food
- Bar soap
- Beans
- Bug spray
- Canned goods with pull tabs
- Crackers
- Deodorant
- Dried fruit
- Granola bars
- Instant mashed potatoes
- Instant oatmeal
- Microwaveable meals
- Milk (self-stable)
- Nuts
- Pasta sauce
- Peanut butter
- Protein drinks (self-stable)
- Socks
- Soup or stew
- Sunscreen
- Trail mix
- Travel-sized toiletries
- Water bottles
The donated items will be added to The Cupboard, the pantry located at DGPL. The library will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 20 and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 21.
