WESTMONT, IL — Wagon rides, snow globe selfies, Santa visits, radio shows and more will celebrate the holiday season in Westmont throughout December for the village's 2023 Holly Days.

The fun will begin Dec. 1 with Snow Much Fun from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. Visitors can pose in a giant snow globe, zoom down an inflatable slide and ride a wagon pulled by mules. At Gregg House, kids can visit Santa Claus and make s'mores.

An ornament decorating activity will also be available earlier in the day on Dec. 1. Head to Westmont Public Library from 9:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. to craft a pair of ornaments, one of which will adorn the community tree at the library.

Frosty and Friends Parade

Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.

See festive floats and colorful costumes, along with some of your favorite holiday characters when the Frosty and Friends Parade steps off from Cass and Chicago in downtown Westmont.

Band Booster Craft Show at Westmont High School

Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Browse artisanal items from hundreds of and artists as you listen to live music from the WHS band.

Wreath-making at Westmont Library

Dec. 7 at 4:15 p.m. for grades K-2; 5:15 p.m. for grades 3-5

Add a bit of bespoke to your holiday with a handmade paper wreath at Westmont Public Library's wreath-making event. Two time slots are available and geared toward kids who are in grades K-2 and grades 3-5.

Elf Tryouts

Dec. 7 at 6 p.m.

One of Westmont's most beloved holiday traditions, Elf Tryouts are slated for Dec. 7 at 55 E. Richmond St. Participants will take part in several elf challenges in an effort to get their own Santa hat and a photo with Old St. Nick on his sleigh. The cost to take part is $20 for resident aned $20 for nonresidents.

Santa Visits

Santa will ride his sleigh from house to house Dec. 11 through Dec. 15 to drop off wrapped presents. Click the link for more information and to register for a Santa Sleigh visit.

Radio Show at Westmont Library

Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m.

Radio personality Steve Darnell will present an array of classic holiday songs and radio snippets to add a vintage vibe to your holiday festivities this season.

Holiday Card Making at Westmont Library

Dec. 16 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Residents are invited to craft their own holiday cards with the help of the library's Makery, which features a silhouette machine and other creative tools.

Snowy Days Drop-In Crafts

Dec. 27 and Dec. 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Spend a lazy day with your preschool or grade school student making whatever arts and crafts you are inspired to create at the Westmont Public Library.
