IHSA Football Playoffs: Dates, Times Announced for First-Round Matchups

The No. 8 Downers Grove North football team will travel to No. 1 Batavia at 7 p.m. Friday for the kickoff of the 2012 state playoffs, the Illinois High School Association announced Monday.

First-round playoff matchups were revealed Saturday night following the completion of all regular season games. All first-round games will be played Friday, Oct. 26, or Saturday, Oct. 27.

Downers Grove North (5-4) will take on Batavia (9-0) in the first round of the Class 7A playoffs. Should the Trojans win, they will face either No. 4 T.F. South (7-2) or No. 5 Thornton (7-2).

Friday, Oct. 26

GAME 9: No. 8 Downers Grove (5-4) at No. 1 Batavia (9-0), 7 p.m.

GAME 10: No. 5 Thornton (7-2) at No. 4 Thornton Fractional South (7-2) 7 p.m.

GAME 11: No. 7 Andrew (6-3) at No. 2 Benet Academy (8-1), 7:30 p.m.

GAME 12: No. 6 Plainfield North (7-2) at No. 3 Oswego (8-1) 7 p.m.
