Meet Bookologist Shannon at the Downers Grove Public Library

Bookology... it’s the science of good books, making Downers Grove Public Library staff experts in the field, or bookologists.

The library is highlighting one bookologist at a time. This October, meet Shannon.

Shannon enjoys historical fiction, popular fiction, literary fiction, political biographies, baseball, narrative nonfiction, audiobooks, and music. After reading Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella, Shannon was inspired to follow her sartorial dreams and get a fashion merchandising degree. She tries to stay on top of the trends, so she can recommend a future bestseller or gossip with you about who wore what on the latest red carpet. As the mom of a 1-year old, she’s also reading lots of board books and can recommend those too.

Some of Shannon’s recommendations include Haute Reads for the Fashionable Bibliophile to Nom-Nom Nonfiction: True Stories of Eating, Cooking, and Other Culinary Adventures. A display in the first floor lobby also includes her favorite movies and music CDs. Come take a look!
