Multicultural Festival To Feature Jamaican Food, Lithuanian Dance, Origami And More

The Tapestry Multicultural Festival we be held at Fishel Park on Sept. 6.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The Tapestry Multicultural Festival will bring Lithuanian and Irish dancing, Polish and Jamaican food, origami arts and more to Fishel Park on Sept. 6.

Featured performers for the festival include Bentley Academy of Irish Dance, Galway Gals, Latin Swing Factor, Suktinis Lithuanian Dance Group and Vaivora Lithuanian Dance Group. Attendees can buy food fro Mamalicious Jerk N Curry and Polish Shack and Dessert Flirt.

Vendors will also be onsite, offering artisan-made Ghanian goods and items from a variety of other cultures. The deadline to vend at Tapestry Multicultural Festival is Aug. 15.

Festival-goers can make their own crafts at the event. The activities include making origami, rain sticks and papel picado, decorative Mexican folk banners made from colorful, cut paper. Visitors can also add their own artistic flair to a community tapestry project at the event.
