Sophomore classes visited with several service men and women Thursday in honor of Veterans Day.

Sophomores at Downers Grove South High School heard stories of patriotism and valor Thursday during the school's annual Veterans Day program.

Every year, the school invites several United States military veterans to speak to students about their experiences in the service, and what Veterans Day means to them.

Guest speakers included Army Lt. Col. Pat Roberts, Marine Johnnie Baylark (Vietnam), World War II soldiers Bill Howland and Ed Hoy, and Vietnam soldier Jack Aldworth.
