Santa Visits, Caroling, More: Holidays In Downtown Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The holiday spirit will take over downtown Downers Grove with strolling carol singers, free wagon rides, window decorating and other beloved traditions. Below, you'll find more info about where and when to take part in the festivities this season.

Strolling Carolers

Starting Nov. 25, you can catch carol singers from local choral groups and scout troops strolling through downtown Downers Grove and filling the air with the sounds of classic holiday tunes.

The schedule is as follows:

• Nov. 25 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
• Nov. 26 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
• Dec. 2 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
• Dec. 9 from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Dec. 10 from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Dec. 16 from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Dec. 17 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Wagon Rides

Shoppers can navigate downtown in a horsedrawn wagon on Nov. 26 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Decked out with wreaths and festive ribbons, the wagons offer a free way to get to and from the village's downtown shops and restaurants on Small Business Saturday. Hop on at 1028 Curtiss St.

Small Business Weekend

Shops will offer special deals and discounts as part of small business weekend, Nov. 24 through Nov. 26. This is also a great time to get your votes in for your favorite business in the window decorating contest, which runs Nov. 24 through Dec. 10.

Santa Visits

Santa Claus will zoom into Downers Grove on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.k, Nov. 24 through Dec. 17. Santa's workshop will be set up for the free visits at the intersection of Main and Curtiss Streets.
