Toys R Us to Host Seasonal Hiring Fair in Downers Grove

Toys R Us is planning to hire 40,000 seasonal employees nationwide as the holidays draw near, and hiring is still taking place at Chicago-area locations.

The company will host an in-store hiring fair from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 12 at Toys R Us, 1434 Butterfield Road, Downers Grove, according to a company spokesperson.

Applicants can learn about job opportunities with the toy store chain and apply on the spot.

Job information for other nearby locations is also available on the holiday hiring website. Hiring is expected to continue through December.

Seasonal part-time store employees average 18 to 20 hours a week, and up to 30 hours during peak season, depending on an employee’s availability, according to a news release.

Jobs include sales employees, stock crew and omnichannel fulfillment teams.

There are opportunities for these positions to lead to year-round employment. Last year, 20 percent of seasonal employees at Toys R Us kept a position after Christmas, the news release stated.
