FOIA request sent to City of East Moline regarding new or amended contracts on December 9, 2025 (rockislandtoday.com) — A media outlet has filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the City of East Moline seeking details on all new or amended city contracts from January through March 2025, including public works, technology, and consulting deals. The request, backed by a transparency-focused nonprofit, asks for electronic records and a fee waiver, with promises to share findings that affect local government spending and accountability.
   

2. QC Toy Show brings WWE hall of famers to East Moline (wqad.com) — WWE Hall of Famers Lex Luger and Ted DiBiase are headed to East Moline this weekend for the QC Toy Show’s “December to Remember” at The Bend XPO Center. Running Dec. 13–14, the dual QC Toy Show and QC Fright Con will feature more than a dozen celebrity guests, 100-plus vendors, and plenty of holiday shopping for collectors and pop-culture fans.
   

3. PGA Tour honors John Deere Classic (ourquadcities.com) — East Moline is home base for the John Deere Classic, which just earned the PGA Tour’s Best Charitable Impact & Integration award. The tournament has now generated over $206 million for charity, leading the Tour in per-capita giving and channeling millions back into Quad Cities nonprofits through Birdies for Charity and strong regional support.
   

4. John Deere says salaried employees will not receive pay raises this fiscal year (wqad.com) — John Deere’s earlier job cuts at its East Moline facility now come alongside news that salaried employees across the company won’t receive raises this fiscal year. While union hourly workers are unaffected, Deere blames low commodity prices and tariff-related trade troubles, which are squeezing local farmers and dampening demand for the equipment built in Moline and East Moline.
