Elgin Area Chamber announces 2024 board leadership

The Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its executive committee board leadership and new board members for 2024.

The 2024 chamber board chair is ReJena (Jeni) Lyon, Hampton, Lenzini & Renwick, Inc. (HLR); vice chair, membership -Yvonne Irving, KCT Credit Union; chair-elect - Rolando Guerrero, Grand Victoria Casino; secretary, Carol Gieske, president/CEO, Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce; and past chair - Yaneth Medina, Elgin State Bank. New board members include Leslie Maloney, Managing Director, Chase Card Services and Kerry Klein, President, Flender Corporation.

“As the newly appointed chair of the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce, I look forward to an exciting year ahead,” said Lyon. “Together, we will continue to build a Chamber that is active in our business community by promoting opportunities, making connections, and providing advocacy and leadership. The future holds immense promise, and I feel privileged to guide the Chamber into this exciting new chapter.”

Lyon has served as HLR’s president and CEO since 2018 and is involved in many of its company’s philanthropic endeavors and community-focused initiatives. She has over 30 years of transportation and land surveying experience and is a strong advocate for the future of the land surveying profession. She is extensively involved with the Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association (IPLSA). HLR is involved in the Alignment Collaborative for Education in Elgin to provide middle and high school students with education and internships in the engineering and surveying industries.”

“I am grateful for our board leadership and the continued positive impact they have in representing local businesses throughout the year,” said Gieske. “They each bring their individual talents, experiences, and success from their own professions to lead our chamber and general community.”

“We also would like to express our appreciation to our two retiring board members Michael McKay, Edward Jones Investments, and Nicole Buchanan, McDonald’s Bear Family Restaurants, for their time and input over the past years.”
