Elgin Nonprofits Get $718K In Coronavirus Relief From Kane County
The Kane County Board is sending some of the county's federal coronavirus-relief funding to 10 Elgin nonprofits.
ELGIN, IL — Ten Elgin nonprofits are set to share about $718,000 in federal coronavirus-relief funding passed on by Kane County.
The Kane County Board recently approved about $3.05 million in relief for 32 nonprofits, with nearly a quarter of that going to nonprofits in Elgin.

Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley will receive $174,000, while PADS of Elgin will get $116,000 to support its mission to provide shelter, food and other necessities to homeless people in the area.

The Kane County Board allocated $95,120 to Food for Greater Elgin, a food pantry that serves more than 1,200 households in the region.
The Boys and Girls Club of Elgin will receive $93,100.
Other Elgin nonprofits to receive CARES Act funding include: Greater Elgin Family Care Center ($74,700); Community Crisis Center ($42,700); Gospel Justice Initiative ($42,000); Well Child Center ($39,360); Summit School ($28,500); and the Family Service Association of Greater Elgin ($12,100).
