SOUTH ELGIN, IL —When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
My daughter is a nurse at NWM Chicago and wanted to work with COVID-19 patients but she lives at home with us and she is a type 1 diabetic and I had to insist she get changed to work with non COVID-19 patient’s.
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
She is so caring and loves being a nurse.
