Elgin's Brian Pinon 'Dedicated To Fighting The Good Fight'
The Board for the Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin vice president isn't afraid to challenge the status quo for a better community.

ELGIN, IL — Without community leaders, Elgin wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.
Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions.
This submission comes from Jennifer Fukala, the executive director of the Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin and an Elgin reader who nominated Brian Pinon.

What does this community leader do?
He is the Vice President of the Board for the Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin. He has also served on many other local boards and committees in Elgin.
Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?
Brian is dedicated to fighting the good fight to help improve our community. He has spent the last several years helping our organization and the downtown business community move forward during and after covid. He is not afraid to challenge the status quo, working on many visionary projects that take big-picture thinking, like "What is the future of our organization?", and "How do we need to evolve to continue moving downtown Elgin in an upward direction?" He is a great sidekick for our board president Steve Kroiss, assisting in ways that complement each other's strengths. Their shared leadership efforts are so much more dynamic than they would be on their own.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?
Brian takes being a role model for men in the Hispanic community taking on leadership roles very seriously. He is passionate about breaking down stereotypes of all kinds.
