Grants Now Available to Fix Up Historic Elgin Homes
City officials are coordinating a 2017 grant program aimed at restoring local homes' architectural and historic integrity.

Owners of historic Elgin structures can now apply for restoration grants to restore and maintain their building's key architectural features.
The Architectural Rehabilitation Grant Program provides residential property owners of structures in designated historic districts with reimbursement grants of up to $20,000. The money is allocated for the restoration of exterior architectural features, according to a city of Elgin update.
Applications are available online. They can also be picked up in person in the City Hall's Community Development Department, 150 Dexter Court. All applications and supporting documentation must be submitted by Friday, March 31.
