ICE Arrests Student At Elgin Community College

The arrest happened Thursday morning outside a building on the main campus at Elgin Community College.

ELGIN, IL — Federal immigration authorities took a student into custody at Elgin Community College on Thursday morning, school officials said.

The student was taken into custody in a parking lot outside of a building on the main campus of the college, which is located at 1700 Spartan Drive in Elgin, NBC Chicago is reporting. ECC officials said the incident "appears to have been" isolated.

College officials said they've been in touch with community leaders and local legislators regarding the matter, according to NBC.
