SOUTH ELGIN, IL — A 26-year-old man, of South Elgin, is facing 45 counts of child pornography charges, officials at the Kane County State's Attorney's Office said Wednesday.
Matthew Carbone, of the 1000 block of South Elgin Boulevard, was charged with five counts of reproduction of child pornography, eight counts of dissemination of child pornography, and 32 counts of possession of child pornography.
The man disseminated and possessed multiple child pornography videos and photos prior to Nov. 17, 2023, fully knowing their content and nature, according to State's Attorney Jamie Mosser. His activities were investigated by the Kane County Child Exploitation Unit — a collaborative effort between the state's attorney's and the sheriff's offices — with help and support from the South Elgin Police Department.
