Small Plane Makes Emergency Landing At Suburban Golf Course
Mechanical issues forced the plane to make an emergency landing at the Highlands of Elgin golf course Wednesday night.
ELGIN, IL — A small plane landed on the Highlands of Elgin golf course Wednesday night, officials said.
No one was injured when the small private aircraft made an emergency landing at the golf course, which is located at 875 Sports Way in Elgin, according to a news release from the city of Elgin.
At about 8:20 p.m., the Elgin Police Department learned the plane was planning to land at the golf course, due to mechanical issues, from the Federal Aviation Administration . Elgin police and fire personnel responded to the scene and found the airplane, which had landed safely on the golf course, according to authorities.

No injuries were reported. Everyone on board the planes was evaluated by the Elgin Fire Department paramedics and then released, police said.
The National Transportation Safety Board has been notified and will investigate the cause of the incident.
