$17.5M in Stormwater Improvements Set for Elmhurst in Autumn, Early 2017
Enhanced stormwater flood mitigation is on its way, officials said.

Elmhurst officials announced this week that six new construction projects slated for this fall will provide enhanced stormwater flood mitigation to several areas of the city.
All construction is anticipated to be under way by October, with much of the work wrapping up by the end of 2016, according to an update shared Thursday. In total, the projects will provide 56.5 acre-feet of stormwater detention throughout Elmhurst. They are part of a $17.5 million investment by the city.
The projects are in conjunction with the nearly complete Walnut/Myrtle/Evergreen Stormwater Improvement Project (20 acre-feet) and the recently completed Webster Avenue Stormwater Improvement Project (2.3 acre-feet).
