$3M Lottery Ticket Sold In Villa Park

VILLA PARK, IL – A $3 million winning Illinois Lottery ticket was sold at a convenience store in Villa Park, the lottery announced Thursday.
The winner is an anonymous woman who called herself "Happy Grandma," the lottery said.
The $30 Super Bonus ticket was bought at the BP gas station at 1 W. St. Charles Road, according to a lottery news release.

"I usually buy the Crossword scratch-off, but something told me to try something different this time," the woman said in the release. "When I saw the $3 million top prize on the Super Bonus ticket, I just knew it was meant to be. It felt like divine intervention."
The big reveal occurred at the woman's house, with family nearby.

The woman said she handed the ticket to her husband for confirmation.
"Then we scanned the ticket with my phone to double-check, and that’s when we really lost it," she said. "We screamed and screamed – it was like we were in shock for a while!"
The woman said she planned to use the winnings to support her son, home improvements, holiday gifts and a cruise for her grandchildren.
"This season is going to be one for the books – full of celebrations and a few spa appointments!" the woman said.
