Bridge Beam Work Means Elmhurst Lane Closures
The closures are planned as part of the Interstate 294 reconstruction project.
ELMHURST, IL – Bridge beam removal in the Interstate 294 project will affect drivers in Elmhurst, the Illinois Tollway announced Thursday.
Nightly lane closures are set to start Sunday on Interstate 294, North Avenue and Lake Street under I-294, according to the agency's news release.
Overnight closures will also happen on the ramp connecting westbound I-290 to eastbound Lake Street-North Avenue, the release said. All the closures are expected to last 15 minutes.

Electronic message signs and construction signage will be put in place to alert drivers in advance, the Illinois Tollway said.
The closures are expected to end Monday or Tuesday. All work is weather dependent.
