Elmhurst Fire Department to Host Open House for Fire Prevention Week

The open house will take place Oct. 4.

The community is invited to join the Elmhurst Fire Department on Oct. 4 from noon to 4 p.m. at Fire Station #2 as they celebrate National Fire Prevention Week.

Station #2 is located at 601 S. York, Elmhurst.

The event, which includes fire safety education, fun activities, and light refreshments will center on this year’s theme “Hear the Beep where you sleep – Every bedroom needs a working smoke alarm.”

Guests will learn fire prevention and safety techniques through a series of educational demonstrations.

Additional activities include Station Tours, Lutheran Charities Comfort Dogs, Fire Safety Trailer, Firefighter Fashion Show, Child Passenger Safety Seat Booth, and an appearance by the AirMed1 Helicopter at 3 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
