Elmhurst Patch's Main Street U Draws Local Business Owners

The free event held Tuesday night at Cafe Amano had 18 business owners in attendance.

A group of local business owners gathered for a workshop on social media Tuesday night sponsored by Elmhurst Patch. The event was held at Café Amano.

Those in attendance learned about using social media tools, such as Facebook, and ways to use Patch to benefit local business.

The two-hour Main Street U workshop was offered free to businesses and drew 18 local business owners from Elmhurst and nearby communities.

Café Amano owner Marco Conte provided space and a variety of appetizers for the event.

During the workshop Elmhurst Patch shared tips on how businesses should be using Facebook and Twitter along with other social media tools to build community and engage customers. In addition, changes to the Elmhurst Patch site and the benefits of blogging on Elmhurst Patch were discussed.
