The number of classrooms was increased by one, to 12. And the renovation was expected to result in 14 restrooms, up from five. Officials wanted to get restrooms close to every classroom at Madison, a former elementary school.
The school's gym, described as largely unused, was to be converted to other uses, according to the district.
The preschool's students were moved to two other schools during the renovation. Its enrollment is about 300.
