ELMHURST, IL – A Wood Dale man made up a story about a crashed car last week at Route 83 and Interstate 290, police said. About 3 p.m. Monday, police received a call about a crash. When they arrived, the car was unoccupied. The man, 63, then showed up and lied that the car was stolen, police said. He was not the driver. He was charged with disorderly conduct and released.
