He was charged with disorderly conduct and released.

ELMHURST, IL – A Wood Dale man made up a story about a crashed car last week at Route 83 and Interstate 290, police said.

About 3 p.m. Monday, police received a call about a crash. When they arrived, the car was unoccupied.

The man, 63, then showed up and lied that the car was stolen, police said. He was not the driver.
