More Work Ahead As Roads Age, Elmhurst Warns
The city expects a period of more road reconstruction projects, according to a report.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst will soon enter a period of major road rebuilding projects as streets age and conditions worsen, the city says.
The city included this warning as part of the five-year capital projects plan that officials presented Monday to the City Council. An updated plan is unveiled every year.
Street reconstruction projects, which involve replacing the base of roads, are more costly than putting a new layer of asphalt on a road.
