New Downtown Elmhurst Mural To Be Unveiled
An Elmhurst resident's mural reflects the town's culture and spirit, the mayor said.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst is unveiling a new mural later this month at the city's parking garage at 120 W. Adelaide St. It is titled, "Adelaide, The Keeper of the Garden."
The muralist is Elmhurst resident Melina Scotte, whom the city described as having deep ties to the community.
"Public art is a vital part of our city's identity," Mayor Scott Levin said in a city news release. "Melina's mural is a beautiful addition to our downtown that reflects the creativity, culture, and community spirit that defines Elmhurst."

The mural features a serene, seated woman surrounded by blooming flowers that gracefully extend across the structure's pillars, the city said.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the mural is planned for 4:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at the parking garage. The public is invited.
