'Pain In Patoot': North Ave. Work Near Elmhurst
An official revealed when the project is expected to be done.

NORTHLAKE, IL – The ongoing bridge project just outside Elmhurst continues to aggravate drivers.
"We have all been putting up with these traffic delays on North Avenue for some time now," Northlake Mayor Jeff Sherwin said in a video released this week. "It's a real pain in the patoot."
Cook County is replacing the Lake Street bridge over North Avenue.

"It would be a lot easier if they could just close the roadway down, but they can't do that," Sherwin said. "Trying to maintain the traffic while doing the work is a difficult thing to do, so let's all have a little patience and understanding."
North Avenue will be squeezed to one lane until the end of July, he said. After that, one more lane is expected to open once the wall is finished.

"The really good news is that by the end of October, all of the road work will be substantially finished," Sherwin said.
Elmhurst Alderman Michael Bram, who represents the area next to Northlake, shared Sherwin's video on Facebook. Bram noted the "good news."
