Person Scares Kids In Elmhurst Neighborhood: Cops
In another case, an officer handles a deer with three broken legs, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a person scaring children, a deer with three broken legs, filming without a permit, threats, a fallen drunk man, a broken window and a bike theft. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Scaring children
- A person was scaring children about 6:30 p.m. on Halloween in the 300 block of North Ferndale Avenue. The suspect then approached someone else and smacked his phone to the ground, causing the screen to crack. Officers could not find the person. An investigation is pending.

- An officer "humanely euthanized" a deer about 7 a.m. Sunday. The deer was found by the Canadian National railroad tracks, which are near York High School. The deer had three broken legs and was unable to move.
Filming without a permit
- A 34-year-old LaPorte, Indiana, woman was cited about 11 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of North York Street on a charge of undertaking a film production without a permit.
Threats

- A man made threatening comments after being confronted about his car almost hitting another car about 7 p.m. on Halloween in the 300 block of North York Street. Officers could not find the suspect.
Fallen drunk man
- Officers and medics responded to a drunk man who had fallen and hit his head on the sidewalk about 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Addison Avenue and Third Street. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Broken window
- A passenger's side window was broken between 5:15 a.m. and 6:20 a.m. Thursday in the 200 block of West First Street. Nothing appeared to be stolen.
Bike theft
- A girl's silver and blue Trek hybrid mountain bike was stolen between 7:55 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of South Prospect Avenue, which is where Elmhurst University and the public library are. The bike was unlocked.
