Thursday Detour: Second Street Closure Makes Way for Water Main

An Elmhurst street closure goes into effect on Thursday, Sept. 8, when workers will be installing a new water main.

The project impacts Second Street, which will be closed at Maple Avenue for most of the morning, according to a community update. Work could continue into early afternoon.

Barricades will block traffic on Maple Avenue between First and Third streets; and Second Street between Larch and Elm avenues. Signs will direct drivers to circumvent the work site via Larch Avenue, Third Street, Elm Avenue and First Street.
