York's Julia Morrissey Named ISCAR President
Morrissey is the direct descendant of Abraham Lucas and Humphrey Scroggins.

Elmhurst, IL - In April, Julia Morrissey was sworn in as the president of the Illinois Society Children of the American Revolution (ISCAR) at George Washington's home in Mt. Vernon, Virginia.
Morrissey is the direct descendant of Abraham Lucas and Humphrey Scroggins, both of whom were veterans of the War for Independence and early settlers of Mt. Pulaski Township, Illinois, where her family continues to farm.

Julia will be a junior at York Community High School this fall, where she is a member of the Student Council and girls basketball team. She is the daughter of John and Christine Morrissey of Elmhurst.
Each year the Society President selects a project for which to raise needed funds. Morrissey choose the Fisher House (www.hines.va.gov/fisherhouse) located on the campus of Hines VA Hospital in Hines, IL.

Fisher House is a nation-wide, independently-owned and operated not-for-profit charity, which has locations at many VA hospitals and military bases.
A free of charge "home away from home" Fischer House serves as a temporary residence for families, spouses and loved ones of those veterans requiring extensive hospital care and treatment for service on behalf of our Nation.
