2 Chicago Men Stabbed On Evanston Side Of Howard Street, No One In Custody, Police Say

Investigators believe the stabbing began with a fight between two groups of people on Howard Street.

EVANSTON, IL — Police said two people were stabbed after an argument between two groups of people turned violent on Howard Street early Sunday.

Officers were first dispatched to the 700 block of Howard Street for a report of a fight around 4:15 a.m., according to police. When they arrived, they found blood on the Evanston side of the street, but no victims.

Investigators learned two Chicago men, aged 34 and 42, had left the scene and gone somewhere in Chicago from which they called 911 and were taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, Evanston police Cmdr. Ryan Glew told Patch.

The younger of the two stabbing victims needed surgery and time in the intensive care unit for their wounds, according the police spokeperson.

As of Thursday, no one was in custody in connection with the stabbing.
