5 Halloween Events in Evanston This Week

This Halloween promises fun for all ages in Evanston.

There's lots going on in Evanston for Halloween this week, including a skating party and Day of the Dead celebration. 

Halloween Skate Party
6:15 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at Robert Crown Center, 1701 Main St.
Admission and skate rentals are free for anyone who comes in costume.

Trick-or-Treating Hours 
4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31
Kids can help raise money for a Kiwanis Club and UNICEF project to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. Contact Scott Hopf at 847-475-4270 for more information.

Halloween For Preschoolers
11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, Robert Crown Center, 1701 Main St. 
This free party for preschoolers includes games, prizes, play time activities, face painting, a musical story time, balloons and other activities. Nutritious snacks will also be served, and kids wearing costumes can take home a treat. 

Dia de los Muertos Celebration
10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, Evanston Public Library, 1703 Orrington Ave.
The library holds a party for the Day of the Dead, a celebration of loved ones who have died that is traditionally observed in Latin American Countries. Activities include the "Craftstravaganza," where kids can make sugar skulls, skull masks and dioramas. There will also be a drumming ceremony and performance by Northwestern's Mexican Folkloric Dance Group. 

Rocky Horror Picture Show With Live Cast
9:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 27 Live, 1012-1014 Church St.
TV host "Undead Johnny" and a live cast are special guests for this shadow-cast performance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. There are plenty of opportunities for audience participation, too. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door.
