How To Recycle Your Christmas Tree In Evanston

EVANSTON, IL — When Christmas passes, what will you do with your tree?

In Evanston, it's easy to responsibly dispose of holiday leftovers, including real trees.

For Christmas trees, place them at the curb or at your regular pickup location between Jan. 5 and 16, and they will be collected at no extra cost. Residents recycling their trees are advised to remove ornaments and decorations, plastic containers, tree stands, nails and lights.

All trees should be placed on the parkway, between the street and the sidewalk; they will not be picked up from alleys or private property.

Trees will be collected on regular refuse and recycling pickup days.
