60+ Classic Cars Taking Over Weekends In Evanston

EVANSTON, IL — This summer Downtown Evanston is launching "Cars & Coffee," which will showcase over 60 vintage cars for three Sundays.

Evanston Cars & Coffee is a free event that will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 22, July 13 and Aug. 10. All cars will be showcased on the surface parking lot behind the Evanston Public Library, where attendees can judge and cast their votes for "Best in Show."

During each event, Outside Coffee will offer morning coffee to all attendees.

"Our office is really excited to bring this new event to Downtown Evanston, and we look forward to seeing all the amazing vintage cars that area residents will be showcasing,” said Downtown Evanston executive director, Andy Vick.

Guests driving to Downtown Evanston are encouraged to park at the Church Street self park garage, where parking is free on Sundays. Metered street parking is also free on Sundays.

"Join us for an easy-going Sunday morning followed by brunch or lunch at a nearby restaurant, downtown shopping, and/or a stroll to the lakefront," officials said.
