ETHS To Cut Jobs, Cites Rising Costs: Report

Evanston Township High School District Superintendent Marcus Campbell informed staff that the school would be cutting 12 positions.

EVANSTON, IL — Evanston Township High School will lay off 12 staff members and cut nine vacant jobs at the end of the school year, according to an email District 202 Superintendent Marcus Campbell sent to staff.

The email, reviewed and reported on by Evanston Now, said that though the school is in strong financial standing, rising costs in the current economic climate continue to outpace the school's revenue.

Staff members who have been let go were informed directly and privately, Campbell said in the email. Reductions mainly include positions of school leaders, non-teaching staff and support staff. Specific staff members and positions that were cut were not shared.
