Annual Food, Book, Toy Drive For Evanston Families

You can help all Evanstonians celebrate the holidays this year with a donation of food, books or toys.

EVANSTON, IL — All Evanston community members are invited to participate in the 10th Annual Mayor's Holiday Food, Book and Toy Drive this year. Evanston holds the event to help ensure every family in town gets to celebrate during the holidays.

With nine days left in the drive, which lasts through Dec. 13, Mayor Stephen Hagerty is encouraging every Evanstonian to bring new, unwrapped toys that encourage physical or social activities, holiday meal staples and children's books, new or lightly used.

Staple foods include "stuffing, green beans, yams, mac and cheese, corn and corn bread mix," and more, the city said in its release.
