Burglar Steals Hair Extensions From Beauty Shop

A man broke into a beauty shop in the 700 block of Howard Street and stole costume jewelry, hair extensions and a 19-inch television between 2:30 and 7:02 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, police reported.

Garage Burglar Steals Tools, Air Compressor

Someone used a tool to force open the door of a garage in the 1400 block of Pitner Avenue between 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, and 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, according to police. Craftsman hand tools, a Craftsman air compressor and Craftsman floor jacks were reported missing, police said.

Known Offender Steals iPhone

A known offender stole a black iPhone 5 after getting a ride from someone in the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue at 12:28 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, according to police. 

Arrests: Possession of Cannabis, Assault

Eshrak Fazal Elahi, 22, of the 46500 block of Red Oak Drive in Northville, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 2:08 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, in the 2500 block of Ashland Avenue, police reported. 

Gino R. Garcia, 53, of the 1900 block of Lake Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with assault in the 1900 block of Lake Street at 5:03 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, according to police. 

Odell Starling, 57, of the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue, was arrested and charged with retail theft after he took medication for treating a yeast infection from a grocery store in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, police reported.

Man Steals Toms Shoes, Suitcase

A man stole a pair of Toms shoes with “Let Love Rule” written on them and a black rolling suitcase that were left unattended in a public building in the 1700 block of Main Street at 3:08 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, according to police. 

Vandal Breaks Car Window On Hovland

Someone shattered the window of a 2002 Ford parked in the 1800 block of Hovland Court between 3:30 and 11:09 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, according to police.
