Car Vs Bicyclist Crash Snarls Traffic In Evanston
Evanston police are investigating a crash between a vehicle and a bicyclist that happened Friday afternoon.

EVANSTON, IL — Evanston police shut down traffic along the lakefront Friday afternoon due to a crash between a car and a bicyclist.
The crash happened before 4:53 p.m. at Sheridan Road and Keeney Street, according to police. Traffic was closed in all directions for approximately an hour while authorities investigate.
According to Ryan Glew with the Evanston Police Department, the bicyclist sustained injuries in the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital. He was alert and conscious and is currently in stable condition, Glew told Patch.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident, who was the car's only occupant, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Police began to reopen traffic in the area after 5:30 p.m.
