Succes came to the U.S. from Haiti with his family at the age of 8 and settled in Evanston, where he began school at Lincolnwood Elementary School, learned English and went on to an educational career spanning every school in Evanston/Skokie School District 65, as well as Evanston Township High School.

Why do you believe the teacher should be recognized or honored?

Jerry has done it all as a Childcare worker, Paraprofessional, Reading teacher, Assistant Principal and his last position, as Director of Academic Supports. All his 36 years in education had been at District 65 and ETHS.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the teacher?

He is a great guy and has done a lot. Students from long ago still see him and thank him for being a positive role model in their lives.
