City Announces Labor Day Holiday Weekend Schedule
Monday through Thursday trash, recycling and food and yard waste collections will occur one day later in the week than usual.

The City of Evanston has announced facility closures and service schedules for the 2020 Labor Day holiday weekend, Saturday, September 5 through Monday, September 7.

Refuse Collection
No collections will occur on Monday, September 7. Monday through Thursday trash, recycling and food and yard waste collections will occur one day later in the week than usual. Friday condo recycling collections will occur on Friday, September 11. Friday condo trash collections will occur on Saturday, September 12.
Facilities
The Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center will be closed September 5 through September 7. All Evanston Public Library locations will be closed on September 6 and 7.

The Chandler-Newberger Center, Evanston Ecology Center, Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, Gibbs-Morrsion Cultural Center, Levy Senior Center, and Noyes Cultural Arts Center will be closed September 5 through September 7, except for rentals. The Robert Crown Center will be open on Saturday and Sunday, September 6 and 7 for regular scheduled programming.
Beaches
All Evanston public swimming beaches will be open September 5 through 7 from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The swimming season ends after Labor Day, September 7.
311
The Evanston 311 Center will be closed on Monday, September 7. The 311 Center will also be closed on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6 according to its normal operating schedule.
Parking
No street cleaning will occur on Monday, September 7; street cleaning parking restrictions will not be in effect. Parking meters/pay boxes and downtown parking garages will be free on Labor Day. In addition, other restricted areas that have signs that prohibit parking except on holidays will be honored.
