City Commemorates Lives Lost To COVID-19 With Light Display In Evanston

Residents are encouraged to participate in a moment of silence during the light beam display Jan. 19.

The City of Evanston will be lighting up the sky in all nine wards on Tuesday, January 19 to commemorate Evanston lives lost to COVID-19, in coordination with the lighting ceremony taking place in Washington D.C. on the same day.

Between 4:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., a light truck will park at different park locations throughout Evanston and display a solemn, peaceful column of light into the sky for approximately 20 minutes at each stop.
