Deborah Graham: Mixed ETHS Classes Not Helping Minorities

Graham is running for a second term on the District 202 School Board.

 

Mixing honor and regular students in Evanston Township High School classes have not helped improve performance of minorities students, Evanston Now reported. 

Deborah Graham, who is running for a second term on the District 202 School Board says school data show that more than 50 percent of African-American and Latino students receive a C grade or lower, while more than 80 percent of white students received an A or B grade in the freshman humanities course, Evanston Now reported.

Four seats are up for election on the District 202 board. Incumbents Gretchen Livingston and Deborah Graham will be vying with Casey Miller, Elena Garcia Ansani, Andrew Bezaitis, Patricia Savage-Williams, Doug Holt and Bill Geiger to remain on the board.
