Divvy Bikes Coming to Evanston Next Year

Evanston will be getting Divvy bikes after all.

Gov. Pat Quinn, who initially rejected a grant to expand Chicago’s bike sharing program to Evanston and Oak Park, approved a $3 million state grant, according to an article in the Chicago Tribune. This will allow for eight docking stations for the blue bikes in Evanston.

Chicago will also expand its Divvy stations with the help of the grant, the article says. Chicago will pay $550,000 in local matching funds. Evanston and Oak Park, which is getting 12 docking stations, will contribute a combined $200,000 in local money.
