Evanston Students Score 3rd Regional National Science Bowl Win

The students from Evanston Township High School's Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Junior Chapter defeated more than a dozen teams.

Evanston Township High School students won their third consecutive National Science Bowl regional title Saturday defeating more than a dozen teams from eight schools and community organizations, Evanston Review reported.

The students from Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Junior Chapter worked with a coach from Northwestern University and attributed the team’s success to working well together, choosing a balanced team and confidence, Evanston Review reported.

The U.S. Department of Energy’s National Science Bowl tests middle and high school students’ knowledge in all areas of science. Teams made up of four students and one alternate are quizzed in a fast paced question-and-answer format similar to Jeopardy, according to National Science Bowl’s website.
