Evanston Announces MLK, Jr. Day Holiday Schedule For City Services

No refuse or recycling collections will occur on Monday.

The City of Evanston has announced changes in service delivery and facility schedules in recognition of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, Monday, January 18, 2021. A listing of events celebrating Dr. King can be found at cityofevanston.org/mlk.

Refuse Collection
No refuse or recycling collections will occur on Monday, January 18. All residential trash and recycling collections will occur one day later than normal. Friday condo trash and recycling collections will occur on Friday, January 22.

Facilities
The Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, Noyes Cultural Arts Center, Gibbs-Morrison Cultural Center, Chandler-Newberger Center, Evanston Ecology Center, Levy Senior Center and Robert Crown Community Center, including the temporary Collector's Office, will be closed on January 18. The Morton Civic Center remains closed.

Both Evanston Public Library locations will be open.

311 Center
The City's 311 Service Center will be open for normal hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Parking
Parking meters, pay stations and downtown parking garages will be free on January 18.
