Evanston Hospital Makes List of Most Recommended Hospitals in Illinois

NerdWallet lists Evanston Hospital as one of the top most patient-recommended facilities in the state.

When uninsured Illinois residents gain health coverage once Obamacare is fully-implemented in January 2014, hospital quality will surely be a high priority for many. 

Thankfully, Evanston residents won't have to travel very far to find it because Evanston NorthShore University HealthSystem Hospital was recently listed as one of the top 10 most recommended hospitals in Illinois, according to NerdWallet.

The website recently rated more than 100 hospitals in Illinois to find the top 10 large hospitals that are most likely to be recommended by patients. 

Evanston Hospital was ranked number 9 on the list while Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield topped the list at number 1.

According to NerdWallet, factors such as communication from doctors, how well pain was controlled, cleanliness, patient room atmosphere and how quickly patients received help were also considered in the rankings. 

Evanston Hospital is ranked nationally in gastroenterology (#40) and gynecology (#21) by U.S. News & World Report.
