Evanston Makes Best Cities for Liberals List

Evanston is the fifth best city to live in if you’re a liberal.

So says the website Livability.com, which ranked the nation’s cities.

The site mentions the 85 percent of voters who supported Obama in 2012 and Rep. Jan Schakowsky’s strong liberal leanings. It also adds that more than 50 languages are spoken at Evanston’s schools, which demonstrates the city’s cultural diversity.

Evanston beat out the only other Midwestern town on the list, Ann Arbor, which came in at No. 7.

Evanston was surpassed on the list by Berkeley, CA; Hoboken, NJ; Somerville, MA and Boulder, CO.
